What I Do
2020欧洲杯导航 I help run the Digital News Design team, which is responsible for art directing, designing and building out innovative and visually driven stories. I also work closely with the product and training teams to guide design initiatives in the newsroom.
How I Got to The Times
I spent my first six months at The Times as a night web producer, and then the next five years as a front-end developer and designer with both the original Multimedia Team (NYTMM!) and then Digital News Design, where I’ve been ever since (besides a few embeds with the magazine, Investigations and Metro). Before The Times, I was a community reporter and home page producer at The Washington Post.
I am a huge fan of house and techno music, and one of my favorite activities is exploring dance floors around New York City.
Most Important Business Lesson Learned
Be your genuine self, especially when it’s hard.
I equate “favorite” with a movie’s repeat watching score. It’s a very strange tie between “Seven,” “Old School” and the “Harry Potter” series (yes, all eight). Honorable Mention goes to “Drowning Mona,” the best movie no one’s ever heard of, and “The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King,” mostly for the scene where Éowyn slays the Witch-king.
This is an impossible question. My mom instilled in me a ferocious love of reading and books. But I’ll have to say, “The Thornbirds.” My mom so admired Meggie Cleary’s independent and determined spirit, and her capacity for love, that she decided to name me after her.
What I Like About Working for The Times
My teammates and colleagues. I get to work with people who are insanely talented, creative, passionate, generous, kind, and who make me laugh every day. I feel as if I won some kind of cosmic lottery.
